Scientists
hope to collect electricity from the air - Imagine devices that
capture electricity from the air ― much like solar cells capture
sunlight. Imagine using similar panels on the rooftops of buildings to
prevent lightning before it forms. Scientists in Brazil are in the early
stages of developing such devices, according to a report presented at the
240th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society. (GizMag;

Alex
Jones on Free Energy (video) - Increasingly popular talk show host
says that the real free energy solutions that would provide individual
energy independence are suppressed, while nominal solutions such as solar
and wind, are supported, because they don't compete with the status quo.
Upcoming documentary film with interactive website to be premiered at Jones'
sites will address these issues. (YouTube / TheAlexJonesChannel; Aug.

Self-Cleaning
Technology from Mars Can Keep Terrestrial Solar Panels Dust Free -
In a report at the 240th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society (ACS),
scientists described how a self-cleaning coating on the surface of solar
cells, based on technology developed for space missions to Mars, could
increase the efficiency of producing electricity from sunlight and reduce
maintenance costs for large-scale solar installations as well as residential
panels. (Solar Daily; Aug. 24, 2010)

PETE
Process adds thermal gain to photovoltaics - Stanford engineers have
come up with a new solar energy conversion process that can potentially
double the efficiency of solar cells by harvesting the wasted heat energy
and keeping up and utilizing the high temperatures which are reached during
conversion in a process that is called photon enhanced thermionic
emission (PETE). (Alt Energy News; August 24, 2010)

Roadsters recently competed in e-miglia,
a 560 km Rally through Germany, Austria, and Italy. e-miglia was designed to
raise awareness about EVs, as Targa Florio, the Mille Miglia or the Rally
Monte Carlo did for gasoline-powered cars in the 20th century. Twenty-five
EVs, capable of traveling 200 km per day, completed the route through the
Alps. (Autoblog Green; Aug. 9, 2010)

from Alaska Star - In March we did an interview with Chris Hunter,
who described his ultra-efficient, 800-mile range electromagnetic motor
design that he's making for his Alaskan car. Though delayed, the project is
still moving forward; and the "Dream Factory" initiative in
Fairbanks, which is a place for inventors to go to for taking an idea to
reality, is likewise moving forward. (PESWiki; Aug. 19, 2010)

Weather a Function of Cosmic Dielectrics - Paul Noel asserts
that severe storms "are an electromagnetic effects of the plasma
fields surrounding the solar system. These are what make sun spots as
well. The driver is electrical. The mechanism is primarily capacitant
and is based on dielectric." This is why opposite extremes appear
at the same time on the planet. (PESN; Aug. 19, 2010)

sign of troubling climate change already under way. The weather-related

Enzyme Can Convert Carbon Monoxide Into Propane, Paving the Way for
Exhaust-Powered Cars - A microbe called Azotobacter vinelandii,
which is found around the roots of various food plants, creates an enzyme

study published in the journal Science, researchers took away the nitrogen
and fed it carbon monoxide instead. The enzyme started making short carbon
chains, two or three atoms long -- in other words, propane. (Popular
