SANPETE
Developers Sterling Allan of Ephraim and Welton Myers of New York have been paying visits to a number of Sanpete County municipalities to pitch a plan for a garbage-powered energy plant.
A similar facility is already operating near St. George.
The plant would burn used tires and other waste to power turbines to generate electricity.

CORRECTION:
The unit in St. George is not already in operation. There is a unit in storage in St. George that was in operation in Boise for a year.
